Carmen is a Peppy Rabbit in the Animal Crossing series. She first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk and has appeared in all subsequent games. Her English name may come from "caramel," referring to her fur color. Her English catchphrase, "nougat," is another type of confectionery. Her Japanese name, Choco (チョコ), is shorthand for "chocolate," which also refers to her fur color, and for her fondness of chocolate, as seen with her Happy Home Designer and Happy Home Paradise house requests involving chocolate, and her Pocket Camp crafting request being a chocolate fountain.

In New Horizons, Carmen has the fashion hobby and may be seen wearing a pink purse with a white flower on it, as well as a specific headwear or accessory item.
