Her English name may be derived from the golden willow, a variant of the white willow, referring to her golden wool. Her English catchphrase comes from the nursery rhyme "Little Bo-Peep," which relates to her species.

In New Horizons, Willow has the fashion hobby and may be seen wearing a pink purse with a white flower on it, as well as a specific headwear or accessory item.
