Spike is a Cranky rhinoceros villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Doubutsu no Mori, and after his appearance in Doubutsu no Mori e+, he did not appear from the Animal Crossing: Wild World to the Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but reappeared in the Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Data for him exists in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer but ultimately remains unused. Unused data of Spike could also be found in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp prior to his inclusion in the game. He is the only Cranky rhinoceros in the series. His English name refers to the horn on his head, which could also be called a spike.

In New Horizons, Spike has the nature hobby and may be found reading a book pertaining to an item he is studying, which can be either flowers, bugs, fish, or fossils.

Appearance

Spike is a rhinoceros with orange skin, angry black eyes, and a scar on his nose with brown stitches. These traits combined give him a rebellious, violent look, hence his English name, Spike, and his English Initial phrase, "punk." However, according to his e-Reader card, he is "as cuddly as a teddy bear" once one gets to know him. In Doubutsu no Mori, his eyes appear much angrier, and his scar does not have stitches.
