Bob is a Lazy Cat in the Animal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. His English name may be derived from bobcat. His Japanese English catchphrase, neko, means "cat," relating to his species. According to series co-creator Hisashi Nogami, Bob was the first villager created, and his January 1 birthday came as a result of that.

In New Horizons, Bob has the play hobby and can run around with his arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.

Appearance

Bob is a purple cat with dark purple polka dots, half-closed lazy yellow eyes, and light purple paws. The inside of his ears are pink, and his tail is purple with darker purple stripes.
