Hippeux is a Smug Hippo in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and has appeared in all subsequent games. He is the only Smug Hippo the series. His English name is intended to be pronounced like a French name, so out loud, it is pronounced identically to his species name. According to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, his real name is Gary.

In New Horizons, Hippeux has the education hobby and can be seen wearing rimmed glasses, reading a novel while outside, and using a magnifying glass when near certain objects.

Appearance

Hippeux is a Hippo with greenish yellow skin, turquoise hooves, a light yellow jaw, and blue eyes. The inside of his ears are pink, and he also has brown hair and eyebrows.
