Hippeux is a Smug Hippo in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and has appeared in all subsequent games. He is the only Smug Hippo the series. His English name is intended to be pronounced like a French name, so out loud, it is pronounced identically to his species name. According to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, his real name is Gary.

In New Horizons, Hippeux has the education hobby and can be seen wearing rimmed glasses, reading a novel while outside, and using a magnifying glass when near certain objects.

Appearance

Hippeux is a Hippo with greenish yellow skin, turquoise hooves, a light yellow jaw, and blue eyes. The inside of his ears are pink, and he also has brown hair and eyebrows.
