Hazel is a Uchi Squirrel in the Animal Crossing series. She first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and has appeared in all subsequent games except Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. She is the only Uchi Squirrel the series. Her English name is most likely derived from the color of her fur and from hazelnuts. Her English name also originally belonged to Sally, another Squirrel.

In New Horizons, Hazel has the play hobby and can run around with her arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.

Appearance

Hazel is a light brown squirrel, with a large unibrow she never seems to mind, her English Initial phrase being 'uni-wow.' She also has short, boyish, red hair that can make her look masculine at a glance, but she has eyelashes and pink blush. She has black eyes and buckteeth.
